Dating and Types of dates

Dating can mean Personal relationships:
If a person or a group of people is "dating", it means they are each seeking and arranging meetings with candidates for an intimate partner.
If a person is "dating someone", or two people are "dating", or "dating each other" it refers to courtship, or sometimes serial monogamy. (British English uses "seeing" or "going out with" rather than "dating" for this).
Ascertaining the date of an event, using the techniques of chronology, including:
absolute dating, for example using radiocarbon dating, or
relative dating, for example using stratigraphy or tree rings

Types of dates
Regular date.
Double date: two couples meet for an activity.
Group date: an activity shared by two or more couples.
Blind date: a date where the participants have not met each other personally before (although may have seen each other's pictures); usually set up by a third party or an internet dating service.
Long Distance / Holidating: Due to a long distance relationship, dating only when one, or both parties are on holiday or vacation and are together during that time period.
